"Down with shame!"

In 1924, a unique action was held in the center of Sevastopol at that time - five adult men and women went to the central street of the city "dressed" only in a ribbon over their shoulder, on which was the inscription "Down with shame". By their act, they naturally caused a stir of the public, which was dispersed only with the help of a fire truck, watering onlookers with water.

Who were these brave people who did not hesitate to undress in public? After digging through the archives, we managed to find out that this was not a spontaneous action of people intoxicated by the southern air and wine, but a radical nudist movement from Moscow, which was called "Down with Shame!".

They did not last long from 1924 to 1925. What did they struggle with, what did they try to convey to the public? Their main idea was that the true face of democracy and equality can only be nudity. They called on people to abandon hypocrisy, spending Naked body evenings in ". And quite often they held processions similar to the Sevastopol one.

Now a number of researchers consider this society to be the destruction of the Soviet Union from within, the reason for the birth of "Down with shame!" is the decline of religiosity and the lack of criminal responsibility for homosexuality and abortion.
