Munich-English Garden

In Germany, nudism or the culture of the free body originated in the 19th century. The first beach for naturists appeared in Munich in the 20th year of the last century. As soon as the warm sun rays warmed the earth, as different-aged Munich residents hurried to expose their naked torsos to the sun.

Favorite places for nudists of 50-60 years are the English Park (Englischer Garten) and the coast of the Isar River. There you could meet clerks who decided to relieve stress during the lunch break, cheerful companies of friends who decided to just spend their free time and warm their body under the rays of the sun.

The Freikrperkultur movement was created not to shock the public, but to fully enjoy and merge with nature. Therefore, secluded places were chosen for recreation. These recreation areas for nudists have never been fenced off. But at the same time, they were located in such a way as to have some security.

This is exactly what the Englischer Garten Park is, located just a 10-minute walk from the center of Munich. They today attract fans to relax naked. The proximity of the river, the beautiful vegetation and the magnificent view made this place a real refuge for the followers of the free body culture in the past and present century.
