The ban on nudism on the island of Goa is already in force

For many decades, hippies and sexual informals flocked to Goa, which led to the scandalous fame of this resort. And this is despite the fact that in India, naked rest is under a total ban. It is difficult to imagine this, but the Hindus, being the inventors of the Kama Sutra , are still a modest and even Puritanical race. For a long time, Goa was the only state where public nudity was treated more or less loyally.

European tourists, taking advantage of the relative freedom of action, for a long time walked on the beaches of Goa in the costumes of Eve and Adam. The male part of the resort's population actively spied on visiting girls and photographed an unprecedented "debauchery" for memory. The culture of nudism and naturism came to Goa in the mid-60s. And it was brought, of course, by hippies. No one then cared about the religious views of the Hindus, who fell into a stupor from what they saw.

Recently, the Indian eden decided to slam the gates in the face of"nudes". The official authorities took up beach nudity and the only state of India, free from conventions, ceased to be such. Now topless is illegal even here. Moreover, tourists are not allowed to appear both in public places and on the beach. There are no exceptions.

The complaints of representatives of the local administration have been heard for quite a long time. Officials complained primarily about Russians, who, in their opinion, are alien to any norms of decency. First, the beauties in bikinis advertising various products disappeared. This was followed by a speech by the Minister of Tourism, who stated that he intended to stop the formation of the image of Goa as an island of drugs and sex.

The organizers of festivals and festive events will now be forced to coordinate their holding with the government.

Does this mean that the vibrant nightlife that has flourished in Goa all these years is coming to an end? And will the innovations of Indian officials undermine the tourism industry, which brings a stable income to the island? Time will tell. In the meantime, lovers of naturism are not allowed to go to Goa.
