The canton of Appenzell-A paradise for nudists has been closed
Welcome to the canton of Appenzell - a tiny Swiss resort located behind Lake Constance at the very foot of the Alps. The residents of the town are proud to live in the most picturesque area of Switzerland and carefully preserve the centuries-old traditions. Tourists come here to admire the mountain landscapes, enjoy the clean air and get to know folk crafts better.
In summer, local residents graze sheep on alpine meadows, organize fun holidays, folk festivals and even carnivals. The procedure of the local elections is extremely interesting: residents of the canton gather in the central square and vote for mayoral candidates with a simple show of hands. A new cultural element - nudists-has recently entered into the blissful pastoral picture.
Tourists with backpacks on their shoulders, but completely naked, began to appear more and more often on the streets of the town. The sight of these people shocked the conservative local population so much that the city authorities were forced to take unprecedented steps. Now it is forbidden to appear without clothes in public places of Appenzell.
It should be noted that by this time Appenzell had managed to gain a scandalous fame (as they wrote in the press) of the "paradise of nudists". In Internet forums, naturists actively discussed their plans, which featured this Swiss canton. Positive reviews have increased the influx of naturists to the city. Adherents of merging with nature flocked to Appenzell from all over the world. The authorities are tired of accepting the flow of complaints coming from voters and "traditional" tourists who do not support the ideas of naturism.
Commenting on what is happening, officials of the Ministry of Justice said that nudists until recently walked around the city completely freely, since there were no laws restricting such a way of self-expression. Officials indignantly dubbed the "nudes" "unbridled tourists" and noted that they were wearing only shoes and backpacks. Representatives of the Ministry set out to harshly stop the current practice.
And they stopped it. Nude style is now banned in the canton of Appenzell. The police have the right to fine the perpetrators. The amount of the fine is 200 francs, which approximately corresponds to 130 euros. A natural question arises - where does a nudist get money from if there are no pockets? In this case, the violator will face a trial.
The initiative of the ministry caused a violent indignation of adherents of public nudity. One of those who spoke out against such arbitrariness was the German lawyer Dietmar , a staunch supporter of naturist ideas. The lawyer claims that the desire to be closer to Mother nature is natural for a person.
Markus Dering, representing the local government, has a different opinion. The official described the naked guests of the canton as a "nudist attack" and condemned an Internet company that promotes a "natural" type of recreation. Most often, Dering added, German tourists prefer to wander naked. Everything started from them, the official is sure.
