The history of nudism in the USSR

The well-known phrase about the lack of sex in the USSR became a kind of motto of the puritanism reigning in those years on the territory of our country. And few people know that during the formation of the Soviet Union, nudism was widespread. So, for example, mass processions of naked people in the twenties of the last century were held not only in ", but also in small cities on the periphery of the country.

Maximilian Voloshin, a well-known poet, artist and critic, became the main ideologist of Russian and then Soviet nudism. It was he who became the founder of the first nudist beaches in Koktebel, where the entire color of the then Russian intelligentsia gathered at his dacha. Over the years, Marina Tsvetaeva, Osip Mandelstam, Nikolai Gumilev, Alexey Tolstoy and many others have visited here.

America is famous for the eternal struggle of women for equality. In recent years, demonstrations held by activists of the Go Topless Association have been gaining momentum. The demonstrators are trying to ensure that they are allowed to go topless not only on nudist beaches, but also in any public places. Now on the streets of American cities, adherents of naturism still face misunderstanding, insults of "textile workers" and fines.
