Retro nudism and the evolution of beach fashion

The evolution of beach fashion has liberated many people, and contributed to the spread of nudism. Previously, men and women bathed separately at a safe distance from prying eyes. Since the 19th century, joint beaches have appeared, where overalls-dresses made of thick knitwear-were used as bathing clothes. No one thought about nudism then.

Until 1940, bathing suits remained closed. And only the French designer Jacques Aime created a two-piece swimsuit in 1941: closed bra and high-waisted shorts. In 1951, the brave dancer Michelle Bernardini demonstrates a "bikini" swimsuit from the designer Aime Louis Rear. He named the swimsuit after the small Bikini Island, which was part of the Marshall Islands.

By 1960, he was minimizing the bathing suit, both for women and men. This is the beginning of the end of bathing accessories. People began to feel comfortable without clothes. More and more often they began to appear without swimsuits on the beach. These years are considered to be the beginning of the period of the emergence of retro nudism, but it was still far from the mass spread and world recognition of the idea of nudism, since the idea of visiting the beach in swimsuits dominated the consciousness of people.
